On November 9th 2006, almost seven months after the death of one of Ireland’s most celebrated writers, John McGahern, a large crowd of friends and neighbours gathered to celebrate the opening of a library named after him in the beautiful and elegant surroundings of The Lough Rynn Castle Hotel near his beloved Mohill in Co Leitrim.
